I haven't been able to log on to the beta site since sometime Sunday. (Haven't tried the old site.)

John

RE: New Good Sam Club Website Problem

I haven't even been able to get the site to open for the last three days - say nothing of logging in (which hadn't been a problem)

RE: How to get to Bar Harbor from phila

smildrum has it right on ! The only additional comment I would make would be to definitly go up and cross the Hudson at the Newburgh-Beacon bridge. The savings in the cost of the toll, more than pays for the slight additional gas you'll use.
We've been nailed as much as $22.50 for the Tappenzee, but only about 1/4 of that at Newburgh. Discovered this about a year ago when Tappenzee was closed due to an accident. Haven't been over the Tappenzee since, nor plan to, ever again.
My best guess on time would be 10-12 hrs. - depending mostly on traffic.
Have a safe trip and enjoy our beautiful State.

RE: Need opinions on Winnabago Adventure 32'

We have an '05 Voyage with that chassis, that we bought used when it was 2 years old, and had never really been used. (It had 1300 miles on it since delivery.) The only "issues" we've had were the rear axle seals leaked - repaired under warranty. Being somewhat of a mechanic, believe that is was, most likely, due to lack of use. Otherwise, we've had no problems. Gas milage has been between 7 - 8 MPG towing a Cavalier. Doesn't make a difference if we're in the mountains or if the AC is on.
As said previously - test drive ...
Best of luck.

RE: A black streak remover you won't believe.

Just a heads up - I've traveled quite extensively for my job, and I've discovered that Lestoil isn't widely available outside the northeast. I got so that I took a bottle with me when I traveled.
(I work with large motor-generators. They can be very dirty (carbon dust mixed with oiy/grease) and we have found the best way to clean ourselves is to use Lestoil, straight out of the bottle, work it in, then wash off. Unfortunately, we can't use it on the generators, themselves, because it leaves a residue.)
Just thought I'd add my $.02 !

I'm glad that I take I-295 around that whole mess (Providence/Pawtucket) as a matter of course.

RE: Maxxair vent cover

We have a Fanmate and it works great. It was designed for use with the Fantastic fans. There's no problem with natural convection, nor do we find any problem (air restriction) with the fine mesh screen that it comes with. Air flow is fine.

RE: Any idea where house batteries are located?

Have you tried under the entrance steps ? That's a common place. (At least in the 2 Coachmen Class C's and a Winnebago Class A that I've owned.)
Good luck,

RE: Flying J Rewards

The way I look at it is this - if I'm putting 60 some gallona of their $3 plus a gallon gas in my MH, their $.60 cents, or so, "discount", ain't worth the effort ! As far as I'm concerned, I'll just watch for the lowest price around.

RE: Palomino Banshee

Not to be a wise guy, but have you tried the Palomino website for their dealer locater?
Other than that, my son and DIL have a two year old Palomino (don't remember the model), and they are happy with it. Haven't had any problems. Personnaly, I'm not impressed with the quality - but they are happy with it.

RE: Electrical connections for gauge

Be careful. In a couple of my vehicles the 12V port and the lighter are NOT switched. Sorry, but I can't help much more than that. I usually do the "laying on the back with the volt meter" trick.
Good luck,

RE: Mystic Seaport, Ct. in Sept.

It's a reasonably nice campground. Was formerly a KOA. We've stayed there several times, with no complaints. The only word of caution would be to follow their directions to get there. DO NOT look at a map and decide there is a shorter, quicker way. (I'm familiar with the area from working there off and on.)
There's a lot to see and do in the area. Come on up and enjoy New England.

Another vote for Cherry Hill Park.
Regarding previous post - you don't need to drive to the subway station. A Metro bus stop is within the CG and takes you to and from the Metro suway station.

RE: Wiring for vent fan on a 2007 Four Winds 5000 29R class C

This is from a purely logical point of view. Since many units have, or get vent fans, the gut answer is yes. The easiest way to find out, is to remove the handle for the installed vent, take down the inner piece of the vent trim (usually 4 screws, and this won't disturb the roof seal) and take a look. The wiring should be right there.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Good luck,
John

RE: I’m a Map Person and Don’t Need a GPS

I'm another one that still trusts maps more than my GPS. Maybe because the GPS we have been trying to use is one that DW bought where she works when it went on the clearence shelf (as I told her "because no-one else would buy them either!") BTW, it's a Sony - not known for GPS.
Anyway I just bought a Garmin c530 on eBay, and can't wait for it to arrive. Have (hopefully) done my research correctly. Couldn't seem to find any serious negatives for this unit.
I'm still not going to throw away my maps though. And like Skip said you find some of the nicest places when you make a wrong turn.
